"Rebellion is bad.
Conformity is good." Another one of my pieces for IBS Art. Everybody is naturally different yet we all are somehow similar to each other because we are forced to conform in one way or another, having to wear a certain type of clothing for a particular profession would be an example. Those who don’t “conform” are viewed as different, maybe even rebellious so this piece shows that in a sarcastic manner. I decided to use the rubber ducks to symbolize the idea because they are considered “innocent”, which is what conformity can be sometimes. Conformity can be innocent because we may not even be aware of it because it is such a simple thing. Then I used punk culture to symbolize difference from the rest by turning what once ordinary rubber ducky into a ‘punk rubber ducky’. (My duckies are going to fly to Kuala Lumpur  ) |
